Njezinom upotrebom smanjuju se stakleni\u010dki plinovi, utjecaj na klimatske promjene i cjelokupni uglji\u010dni otisak. Unapre\u0111ivanjem i istra\u017eivanjem fotonaponskih tehnologija ula\u017ee se u o\u010duvanje okoli\u0161a i energijsku u\u010dinkovitost. Cilj ovog istra\u017eivanja je teorijski dizajn novih materijala za sustave prikupljanja solarne energije s pove\u0107anom efikasnosti, u svrhu proizvodnje \u010diste elektri\u010dne energije. Izra\u010duni strukturnih i opti\u010dkih svojstava temelje se na teoriji funkcionala gusto\u0107e (DFT) i na njezinoj vremenski zavisnoj varijanti (TD-DFT). Naglasak je na istra\u017eivanju fotovoltai\u010dnih i fotokemijskih svojstava, kao \u0161to su; efikasnost fotoelektri\u010dne pretvorbe i efikasnost svjetlosne emisije (QY). Dizajn novih materijala na nanoskali zasniva se na organskim sustavima boja za primjenu u bojom senzibiliziranim solarnim \u0107elijama (DSSC), odnosno u transparentnim luminiscentnim solarnim koncentratorima (TLSC). Teorijski izra\u010duni fotovoltai\u010dnih i fotokemijskih svojstava slu\u017ee za stimulaciju eksperimentalnih istra\u017eivanja u podru\u010dju novih solarnih tehnologija.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Title:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>THEORETICAL DESIGN OF NEW MATERIALS FOR SOLAR ENERGY HARVESTING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Solar energy represents a clean, renewable energy source. The use of solar energy reduces greenhouse gasses, climate change impact and the overall carbon footprint. Through research and development in photovoltaic technology, investments can be made in environmental protection and energy efficiency. The aim of this research is theoretical design of new solar harvesting materials with increased efficiency for production of clean electric energy. Calculations of structural and optical properties are based on density functional theory (DFT) and its time-dependent variant (TD-DFT). The emphasis is on the research of photovoltaic and photochemical properties, such as; energy conversion efficiency and fluorescence quantum yield (QY). Design of new materials at the nanoscale is based on organic dye systems for use in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) and transparent luminescent solar concentrators (TLSC).
