Danijela \u0160anti\u0107, znanstvena savjetnica <\/strong>\u2013 Institut za oceanografiju i ribarstvo u Splitu i<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>doc. dr. sc. \u017deljka Trumbi\u0107 <\/strong>\u2013 Sveu\u010dili\u0161ni odjel za studije mora Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta u Splitu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pozivaju se svi zainteresirani da prisustvuju javnoj obrani teme doktorskog rada.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Naslov:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ekologija mikrobne zajednice s naglaskom na aerobne anoksigene fototrofe u srednjem Jadranu<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sa\u017eetak:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>U ovom jednogodi\u0161njem istra\u017eivanju bit \u0107e odre\u0111ena struktura, brojnost i dinamika mikrobne zajednice s podru\u010dja srednjeg Jadrana, s naglaskom na odre\u0111ivanje sastava zajednice aerobnih anoksigenih fototrofa (AAF) na finijim taksonomskim razinama. AAF su fotoheterotrofne bakterije koje mogu sakupljati svjetlosnu energiju i proizvoditi ATP pomo\u0107u jedinstvenih fotosintetskih reakcijskih centara, me\u0111utim prvenstveno koriste heterotrofni metabolizam. Mogu sa\u010dinjavati zna\u010dajan udio bakterijske zajednice te sudjeluju u ciklusu kru\u017eenja ugljika u okoli\u0161u. Ovo istra\u017eivanje pru\u017eit \u0107e prvi opse\u017ean uvid u sezonsku i prostornu dinamiku mikrobne zajednice srednjeg Jadrana s naglaskom na AAF. Sastav i dinamika zajednice bit \u0107e odre\u0111eni kori\u0161tenjem metabarkodiranja 16S i pufM gena za ukupnu mikrobnu, odnosno AAF zajednicu, te CARD- i IC-FISH metodama za odre\u0111ivanje brojnosti specifi\u010dnih bakterijskih grupa. Promjene u obrascu, sastavu i dinamici mikrobne zajednice bit \u0107e dovedene u vezu s promjenama bioti\u010dkih i abioti\u010dkih \u010dimbenika okoli\u0161a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Title:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Microbial community ecology with an emphasis on aerobic anoxygenic phototrophs in the Central Adriatic Sea<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this research, the specific structure, abundance, and dynamics of the microbial community of the Central Adriatic will be defined during a one-year sampling from three stations on a monthly basis, with an emphasis on determining the composition of the community of aerobic anoxygenic phototrophs (AAPs) at finer taxonomic scale. AAPs are photoheterotrophs able to harvest light energy and generate ATP with unique photosynthetic reaction centers, but primarily rely on heterotrophic metabolism. They can make up a significant part of the bacterial community and affect the carbon cycle in the environment. This research will provide the first comprehensive insight into the seasonal and spatial dynamics of the microbial community of the Central Adriatic with an emphasis on AAPs. The composition and dynamics of microbial community will be determined using metabarcoding of 16S and pufM genes for the total microbial and AAP community respectively, while CARD- and IR-FISH methods will be used to enumerate specific bacterial groups.
