Mile D\u017eelalija<\/strong> \u2013 Prirodoslovno-matemati\u010dki fakultet Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta u Splitu).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pozivaju se svi zainteresirani da prisustvuju javnoj obrani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Naslov:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dizajn novih heterogenih katalizatora za obnovljivu energiju<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sa\u017eetak<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upotreba alternativnih izvora energije umjesto uobi\u010dajeno kori\u0161tenih fosilnih goriva omogu\u0107uje dekarbonizaciju industrijskih procesa i otvara put odr\u017eivoj budu\u0107nosti. Razvoj kataliti\u010dkih materijala s ciljem eliminacije \u0161tetnih plinova i proizvodnje korisnih produkata klju\u010dan je u kontekstu zelene tehnologije. Cilj istra\u017eivanja je upravo dizajn i razvoj novih heterogenih katalizatora s direktnom primjenom u razvoju materijala za obnovljivu energiju. U tu svrhu koristi se teorija funkcionala gusto\u0107e (DFT) koja omogu\u0107uje istra\u017eivanje geometrijske i elektronske strukture materijala te ra\u010dunanje energijskog profila reakcije. Modifikacija veli\u010dine, morfologije i sastava katalizatora na nanoskali omogu\u0107uje preciznu kontrolu njegove aktivnosti i selektivnosti. Stoga, uz detaljni mehanisti\u010dki uvid u kataliti\u010dke reakcije, ispitiva se odnos strukture i aktivnosti katalizatora. Fokus istra\u017eivanja je na pove\u0107anju efikasnosti i unaprje\u0111enju gorivih \u0107elija u smislu proizvodnje i pohrane vodika te eliminacije ugljikova monoksida. Tako\u0111er, s ciljem eliminacije ugljikova dioksida istra\u017euje se njegova pretvorba u produkte s dodanom vrijednosti. Novi materijali na kojima se temelji dizajn su metalo-organske mre\u017ee (MOF-ovi), zeoliti te klasteri na povr\u0161ini. Teorijski rezultati su nadopunjeni eksperimentima nastalima u suradnji s me\u0111unarodnim istra\u017eiva\u010dima te stimuliraju proizvodnju i ispitivanja novih kataliti\u010dkih materijala s pobolj\u0161anim svojstvima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Title:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Design of new heterogeneous catalysts for renewable energy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abstract<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The use of alternative energy sources, instead of conventional fossil fuels, enables the decarbonization of industrial processes and paves the way to a sustainable future. The development of catalytic materials with the goal of eliminating harmful gases and producing useful products is crucial in the context of green technology development. The aim of the present study is precisely design and development of new heterogeneous catalysts with direct application towards the development of materials for renewable energy. For this purpose, the density functional theory (DFT) has been used, which enables the investigation of the geometric and electronic structure of the materials and the construction of reaction energy profiles. Modifying the size, morphology, and composition of the catalyst on the nanoscale enables precise control of its activity and selectivity. Therefore, along with a detailed mechanistic insight into the catalytic reaction, the relationship between the structure and activity of the catalyst has been examined. The focus of the investigation is on the increase of efficiency and improvement of fuel cells through the production and storage of hydrogen, and the elimination of carbon monoxide. In addition, with the goal of carbon dioxide reduction, its conversion into value-added products has been examined. The materials design has been based on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), zeolites, and clusters deposited on the surface.
